Who should attend the event?
Anyone wanting to build on their skills to advance their career will benefit. From System Administrators to Web Developers, there's something for everyone at Tech.Ed 2008.

Why should I visit the event?
Tech.Ed is a great opportunity to network with other IT professionals and developers, along with a unique opportunity to hear from a range of experts from Microsoft. With 180 sessions, 3 social events and countless opportunities to be received training and certification it is an event not to miss.

What is included in my ticket?
Full registration tickets include access to the exhibition area, keynote and locknote, over 200 technical sessions, lunch, afternoon and morning tea, welcome reception, closing party, Ask the Experts, buffet dinners at the social functions and the Tech.Ed 2008 satchel.

Is there parking at the event?
The Exhibition Centre car park is conveniently located off Darling Drive, underneath the Centre's five exhibition halls. The car park has direct access to the venue and the many attractions and facilities available in Darling Harbour. There are 900 spaces available, disabled spaces are clearly marked. Drop off points are available at the northern and southern end of the Convention Centre.

Please note the ceiling height of the Exhibition Centre car park is 1.8 metres.

Monday to Thursday - 6am to 1am the next day

Friday - open from 6am (24 hours)

Is there wheelchair access?
There are 7 wheelchair accessible toilets located throughout the Convention and Exhibition Centre and these are clearly signposted. Two wheelchairs are available for public use. These can be borrowed from the Exhibitor Services Desk located in the Exhibition Hall 3 foyer.

Trained guide dogs are welcome in the Centre at all times

Telephones - A TTY service telephone is located in Convention Centre Parkside.

Hearing induction loops are fitted in the Bayside Auditorium and the Parkside Auditorium. Delegates with hearing aids should use their 'T' switch in these rooms.

All Centre Security staff are trained in First Aid and are onsite 24 hours per day.

18 disabled spaces located throughout the length of the car park. Disabled spaces are clearly marked. Drop off points are available at the northern and southern end of the Convention Centre.

How do I get to the venue?

From the Airport -

  • Southern Cross Drive connects into South Dowling Street. Follow South Dowling Street until you reach Cleveland Street. Turn left at Cleveland Street. (10 minutes, 5kms)
  • Follow Cleveland Street until you reach Abercrombie Street. Turn right at Abercrombie Street. (7 minutes, 3.5kms)
  • Abercrombie Street connects into Wattle Street. Follow Wattle Street until you reach Pyrmont Bridge Road. Turn right at Pyrmont Bridge Road. (5 minutes, 2.5kms)
  • Pyrmont Bridge Road connects into Darling Drive. The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is located on your left hand side after the first roundabout. (5 minutes, 1.5kms)
  • Carparking is available underneath the Exhibition Centre on Darling Drive. For parking information, please see below.

From the Harbour Bridge -

  • Cross the Harbour Bridge via the Bradfield Highway until you reach the toll. (3 mins, 1.5km)
  • After the toll, take the Western Distributor Fwy. Stay on the right. This road connects into Harbour Street. (2 minutes, 2kms)
  • Follow Harbour Street until you reach Pier Street. The Novotel Century Sydney is located on this corner. Turn right into Pier Street. (2 minutes, 1.5kms)
  • Veer left onto Darling Drive. (1minute, 0.1km)
  • Take the second exit at the roundabout. Follow along Darling Drive. The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is located on your right hand side.

From the Anzac Bridge -

  • Cross the Anzac Bridge via the Western Distributor Fwy until you reach the Pyrmont Bridge Road exit. Veer left onto the Prymont Bridge Road exit. (2 minutes, 1.5kms)

I have booked but now I can't go, can I get my money back?
Email your request to teched@infosalons.com.au and a registration consultant will amend your booking and issue a refund if applicable.

Do I have to come every day? Or can I pay to come for just one day?
Tech.Ed 2008 is a three day event. Delegates are not able to purchase tickets for one day.

Do I need to pre-register for the event?
Subject to availability, you can purchase tickets at the event. However spaces are limited so it is advisable to register for the event prior.

Can I use Premier Hours for the Pre-Conference Workshops and Dynamic IT, if yes how many hours?
Yes you can use Premier Support Hours to pay for your Tech.Ed 2008 registration, Pre-Conference Workshops & Dynamic IT. Tickets to Tech.Ed 2008 = 8 hrs Tickets to Pre-Conference Workshops = 2 hrs Tickets to Dynamic IT = 2 hrs Note: Pre-Conference Workshops & the Dynamic IT both run on Tuesday, 2 September - participants are not able to attend both sessions.

How do Premier Support Customers Register?
To pay using your Premier Support Hours please visit the registration website and select the Premier Support ticket type.

What times does registration open?
Registration opens at 3pm on Tuesday 2nd September in the Sydney Convention Centre foyer.

How do I receive my badge?
You will receive your badge onsite when you register at the event.

How do I pay by invoice?
Online by selecting either the cheque, direct debit or PO payment option. A confirmation and Tax Invoice - Not Paid are sent automatically to the nominated email address supplied when registering.

I have booked but would like to add/delete/change a session or social function?
Email your request to teched@infosalons.com.au and a registration consultant will amend your booking and re-issue your confirmation and invoice if applicable.

I have a lot of Microsoft Training vouchers available to me. Typically we use these to book our staff on MS training courses with companies like DDLS and Excom. Can you please let me know if I could use these vouchers to attend Tech.Ed this year?
No, unfortunately these types of vouchers cannot be used.

Can I send someone in my place?
Yes. Email your requested substitution to teched@infosalons.com.au Please include the original delegate name and the following details for the new delegate. Name, Position, Contact Phone and Email address. A confirmation will be emailed once the substitution has been made. Substitutions can be make until 18th August 2008.

Who do I raise my purchase order to?
Info Salons Australia are our registration company, please raise any purchase orders to Info Salons Australia as they will be issuing the invoices on behalf of Microsoft Australia.

How do I book my accommodation for Tech.Ed 2008?
There are two options to book your accommodation for Tech.Ed this year:

  1. Bundle your accommodation with your registration and pay both together by credit card only. Check out these deals
  2. Book your accommodation and guarantee your accommodation with a credit card or select payment with another person's credit card. The hotel will take payment for this option.

The welcome party is in the exhibition area at the Convention Centre and starts at 6.30pm on Wednesday 3rd September 2008 at Party Hall 4.
